Grateful Dead Tribute Night – A Very Grateful Night

Dead Heads Unite on Saturday, March 15th head to the Royal on Baker for a Grateful Dead Tribute Night with performances by the Tulsa Naturals, The Grateful Life, Snakes and Horses, Heavy Sweater and Rob Funk. This is all in support of our homegrown radio station Kootenay Co-op Radio. Tickets are available online on the Royal’s website, $20 for KCR members, $25 for non-members.

The Midnight Clear

Anne Janelle and James Hill bring their touring performance The Midnight Clear to the Taghum Hall stage. Get ready to enjoy a delightful fusion of cello, ukulele, percussion and voice as these two talented folks put their own beautiful spin on classic carols and original tunes in a musical celebration of the season.

Noémi Kiss and Friends

Noémi Kiss teams up with pianist, Paticia Tao, and Nelson instrumentalists, Natasha Hall
(violin) and Rob Fahie (double bass). Listeners will embark on a journey spanning centuries,
with compositions by Mozart, Liszt, Poulenc, and Satie, as well as Hungarian folk music,
Noémi’s cultural heritage. Elements of jazz, folk and classical music, delving into themes of
love, beauty, belonging and loss will be at the evening’s heart.

Contra Dancing

Contra dancing is a community social dance that has its origins in England, Scotland and France made popular in the US.

We dance to live music – Irish, Scottish and French-Canadian tunes played by talented musicians. A caller walks through the moves and prompts the figures during the dance.

Contra dance is appropriate for all ages if you can walk briskly and follow directions independently. You don’t need to bring a partner. It is customary to change partners during the evening. Bring comfortable layered clothes, water bottle, indoor shoes.

We dance at Taghum Hall 6:30-7pm introductory class/ 7-9 dance  $15/adults $10/youth   Next dances: Friday Oct. 25 and Friday Nov. 29
