Penny Shades is a five-piece alt-soul group from Nelson BC that makes original music featuring 3-part harmonies and dynamic lead vocals, with modern grooves and psychedelia flare.
The band launched with their debut FACTOR-funded EP during the pandemic, and have already found themselves sharing major stages including Nelson International Mural Festival and Kaslo Jazz Etc. Festival.
The group is comprised of lead vocalist Sarah Orton, guitarist Jesse Lee, bassist Sam Hobeyn, keys/synth Jeremy Sauer and drummer Ness Benamran.
