This month’s feature act: Tenise Marie

Tenise Marie is a singer-songwriter and performer based in Nelson, British Columbia.

Known for her luminous voice, enchanting lyrics, and melodies that transcend the expected, her songs bridge tradition and innovation, reflecting the confluence of her English, French & Assyrian roots.

Her latest album Off The Record was released in 2025 with support from Creative BC and The Province of British Columbia, marking a vulnerable journey of reclaiming heritage and identity, heavily inspired by her travels to Iraq’s Assyrian homeland, supported by the Canada Council for the Arts.
In 2025, Tenise toured her live show across BC, with notable performances at festivals including Starbelly Jam (Crawford Bay) and Woodstove Festival (Cumberland), an official showcase at Pacific Contact (Vancouver), and a headlining concert at Key City Theatre (Cranbrook).
