Nelson Winter Shootout Finale and Show

A five day competition for local photographers to showcase their talent and creativity this winter. From March 27th to the 31st, competitors will work against the clock to collect images for a selection of five single-image categories, as well as photo essay category. Submitted photographs are analyzed by a panel of judges, and the contestants’ creations will be showcased the following week with awards and prizes for category winners at The Royal.

Photo Essay:
A 60 to 120 second photo essay with audio. There is no restrictions on subject matter and contestants are encouraged to be creative with what they wish to cover!

Contest Rules:
– Photos must be taken within the contest timeframe (27th – 31st). EXIF camera data may be needed to verify if a photo is in question.
– Submissions will be judged by a panel based on photographic and aesthetic merit. Specific criteria will be sent to contestants’ registered email address.
– Final submissions must be delivered before midnight on the 31st. A link will be sent to contestants’ registered email for fileshare service where submissions will be uploaded.
– Contest entry fee ($20) must be paid before the end of the shooting window.
– Post-processing and other editing (i.e. Lightroom, Photoshop) is permitted.
– Ownership is retained completely by original photographer.
