12. Zoe Marian Grey Studio

Sculptural wall art; cold-castings

Zoe Marian Grey is a multidisciplinary artist with a background in blacksmithing, stone carving and jewellery making. A graduate of the Kootenay School of the Arts, she creates small-scale sculptural reliefs produced in limited editions. Her work is inspired by quiet magical moments at night in the natural world, translating organic forms into tactile, contemplative, wall-mounted sculptures.

Grey begins by hand-sculpting original forms in reusable oil clay. She then creates custom moulds and casts each piece in a durable, non-toxic plaster polymer. Mineral and oxide pigments are integrated into the material, giving the sculptures soft, earthy tones and a velvety matte finish.

Each design is released in an edition of 20, with every casting a slightly different tone and colour. Grey produces her work in her studio in Slocan, where material, craft and landscape remain central to her practice.

Address: 507 Arlington Rd., Slocan

Directions: In cabin beside main house.
