9. Art Across the Arrow
Paintings; sculpture; photography; literary

This dynamic group art exhibit brings together a diverse range of artistic expressions. Featured works include photography and sculpture alongside traditional and contemporary painting. Landscape, portraiture and abstract works immerse viewers in rich, vibrant compositions that evoke emotion and reflection. Mixed-media works break traditional boundaries, blending materials and techniques to create layered, dynamic compositions. Acrylic pour art adds an element of fluidity, with mesmerizing swirls of colour that seem to dance on canvas. Photography captures fleeting moments in time, inviting the viewer to see the world through a fresh perspective. Stone sculptures, meticulously crafted, offer a tactile connection to ancient art forms. Rounding out the exhibit, literary works provide a thought-provoking narrative, complementing the visual pieces with powerful written expression. Each work, whether abstract, figurative or conceptual, tells a unique story, reflecting the individual voice and creativity of the artist.

11. EricHolloway.Art
Wall art; hand-painted; colourscapes; nature-inspired

EricHolloway.Art is a tiny-home art studio tucked in the forests of the Kootenays. Eric is an artist, photographer, inventor and craftsman. He started EricHolloway.Art with a passion for woodworking, design and innovation. Originating with laser-cut jewellery, his work has expanded to include decorative boxes, ornaments and wall art. On the tour, Eric will be highlighting his laser-cut wall art; each piece thoughtfully designed, painted and layered—culminating in a visually sophisticated piece of depth and colour.
Eric’s art plays with themes of nature, sacred geometry, balance and contrast. Growing up near the mountains, Eric continued to foster his love of the outdoors, choosing to live remotely and in a way inextricably tied to the seasons. These choices continue to call him out to the woods to forage, photograph and explore. The natural world is full of both commanding magnificence and intriguing detail and Eric’s designs are an homage to that experience.
Wall art has created an opportunity to explore the nuance of design, as each colourscape selection enhances different parts of the design, some adding depth and others highlighting specific patterns within the same design.

12. Karen Coon: Artist
Portraiture & figurative paintings; oils; watercolours; pastels

I am excited to participate in the Columbia Basin Culture Tour 2025. My exhibit at the Nakusp Sports Complex Auditorium will showcase several of my works, with most being available for purchase. Some paintings may inspire you to enquire about a commission for a family memento or heirloom!
Being mostly a self-taught artist, I started painting portrait commissions in 2013. For many years, the beauty and intimacy of the human figure has been central to my art. Whether using oils, watercolours, pastels or mixed media, I strive to maintain a painterly quality to capture a luminous yet tender likeness of the people I paint.
Inspiration comes from family, friends and fascinating individuals I encounter during my travels. My influences range from the Renaissance to the masters of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, connecting my art with the contemporary revival of classical portraiture and figurative work.
