SUMMARY:BOOM – The Music\, Culture\, and Events of the Baby Boom Generation
DESCRIPTION:Trail Arts Council presents “BOOM” A Kidoons and WYRD Production\, in association with The 20K Collective. Written\, Directed and Performed by Rick Miller. \n“BOOM (1945-1969): The Music\, Culture\, and Events of the Baby Boom Generation” will play at The Bailey Theatre on Wednesday\, March 5 at 7:30 pm\, as part of the Performing Arts Trail series in The Bailey Theatre. A daring mix of live music and visual effects this is a show full of emotion\, storytelling and sensory experience. \nPart 1 of the BOOM Trilogy features the music\, culture\, and events of the Baby Boom Generation from 1945 to 1969. An explosive solo performance\, “BOOM” takes us through 25 turbulent years\, and gives voice to over a 100 influential politicians\, activists and musicians. It’s a mind-blowing experience for audiences of all generations. \nBOOM chronologically documents the period from the first atomic bomb in 1945 all the way to the Apollo 11 landing on the moon in 1969. Experience the global events as they unfold: the Cold War\, McCarthyism\, Beatlemania\, JFK\, MLK\, Vietnam… The various stories spiral into the “The Summer of Love’’\, and BOOM ends as it began: with the birth of a new generation. \n“A can’t-miss theatrical experience… (5 STARS) ★★★★★” – Calgary Sun \n“★★★★1/2! SUMMARY:Stephen Fearing & The Sentimentals
DESCRIPTION:Stephen Fearing & The Sentimentals Revered Canadian songwriter Stephen Fearing and the award-winning Scandinavian indie-folk band The Sentimentals share a mutual passion for crafting evocative melodies and refined musical interplay that leave audiences cheering. Since joining forces in 2018\, Stephen Fearing & The Sentimentals have lit up stages across Europe and Canada\, delivering performances defined by an unforgettable blend of masterful songwriting and intricate musicianship.
