SUMMARY:L’OMELETTE with HONEYDRIPPER
DESCRIPTION:L’omelette weaves soul\, jazz and punk into colourful\, honest\, genre-fluid tapestries. The Calgary art-rockers dart between prog and new-wave rock rhythms and synth-led dance pop\, tethered by commanding melodies and current concepts. Meg Benedict’s vocal\, sax and synth stylings are underpinned by guitarist Alex Klipper’s thoughtful and driving riffs; Matthew Lowe’s infectiously melodic bass lines; and Peter Cormier’s diamond-cut drumming and backup vocals. With them\, there’s always something vivacious\, heady\, danceable and thought-provoking to chew on. \nHoneydripper (aka Steven Gevenich) is an Edmonton based producer\, musician\, and DJ. A guitarist by trade\, he has spent well over a decade heavily involved in live music\, taking inspiration and experience from a diverse background in jazz\, funk\, and roots music. However a love for dance music and underground culture sparked the way to a solo house music project in the spring of 2017. Honeydripper’s productions are a medley of lush chords\, dusty drum samples\, sultry vocal hooks\, deep bass lines\, and worldly percussion\, all carefully detailed with a signature emotion and subtlety. Add a touch of lo-fi and you get warm and cozy house beats designed for long summer nights and early morning dance floors.

SUMMARY:Starbelly Jam Presents: L’Omelette & Honeydripper Live at Gray Creek Hall
DESCRIPTION:Starbelly Jam Music Festival presents Calgary’s favourite art rockers\, L’Omelette\, alongside resident beat man and deep house connoisseur\, Honeydripper\, for an epic night of dancing and mini Starbelly magic.\n\nL’omelette weaves soul\, jazz and punk into colourful\, honest\, genre-fluid tapestries. The Calgary art-rockers dart between prog and new-wave rock rhythms and synth-led dance pop\, tethered by commanding melodies and current concepts\nMeg Benedict’s vocal\, sax and synth stylings are underpinned by guitarist Alex Klipper’s thoughtful and driving riffs; Matthew Lowe’s infectiously melodic bass lines; and Peter Cormier’s diamond-cut drumming and backup vocals. With them\, there’s always something vivacious\, heady\, danceable and thought-provoking to chew on.\n\nSteven Gevenich\, better known as Honeydripper\, is an old hand at new tricks. As a music producer\, multi-instrumentalist\, and DJ\, he has been blazing the frontier of Canada’s burgeoning deep house scene. Profoundly influenced by Chicago house music\, Honeydripper draws elements of jazz\, funk\, and soul into a mature catalogue\, that focuses more on subtly and feeling than reaction.
