DESCRIPTION:Brass Camel is a unique rock group who recently released their debut album\, mixed by multiple Juno-winner Ben Kaplan. Made up of five experienced twenty-somethings whose collective accomplishments include performing at New York’s Apollo Theatre\, jamming with guitar icon Les Paul and hundreds of studio sessions\, their sound is unique but one can hear the influence of titans such as Supertramp\, Rush\, Herbie Hancock and Yes. The group’s last three shows in Vancouver\, as well as recent performances in Revelstoke and Kamloops\, have sold out and last year Gordie Johnson of Big Sugar named Brass Camel as his favourite Canadian band.  In May/June the band is embarking on their first national tour which runs to Montreal and includes an industry showcase performance at Canadian Music Week in Toronto.

DESCRIPTION:For the last Trail & District Arts Council Music in The Park on Thursday August 31 we have White Lightning Blues\, Rock and Boogie Band before the 2 Bit Jug Band’s old-time jazz and blues from the 1920’s and ‘40s.\n\n\nWhite Lightning is a highly energetic\, danceable 6-piece Blues\, Rock and Boogie Band from Nelson\, with a distinctive twin guitar plus harmonica sound. They play classics from Little Walter\, Chuck Berry and The Beatles along with their Kootenay-themed originals. The 2 Bit Jug Band rescues forgotten old blues\, swing\, jazz\, and jug band songs from the 1920s to the ‘40s. Covering universal themes of heartbreak\, happiness\, and even food . Bring a lawn chair. Admission is by donation – $3 minimum suggested.

DESCRIPTION:A toe-tapping evening is in store for Nelson area music-lovers when the Portland\, Oregon-based stringband Never Come Down plays Taghum Hall on Friday\, August 18 at 7:30pm. Since the band formed in 2018\, they’ve taken home the top prize at the FreshGrass and RockyGrass bluegrass competitions and have released one album\, with a second on the way. We groove & smile as we dance like nobody’s watching & only we can hear the music. \nDance on the beach\, dance in the shade\, dance wherever you please because the set will be transmitted directly to you wherever you are in the park. \nEach month Bernice will play us an epic DJ set transmitted live from the centre of the park & Nadine will close the set with a live sound bath. 2 hours of music\, dance surrounded by nature & community. \nPotluck after the dance. DESCRIPTION:Come down to see live music at The Front Street Park in Kaslo on Friday July 21st from 5-7 PM. Note that this event is on a Friday\, rather than the usual Saturdays\, and 5-7 rather then the usual 6-9. \nDiyet was born in a tent and spent her childhood on the ancestral lands of the Kluane First Nation people of the Yukon. Coming from a family rooted in traditions but tempered with a good sense of adventurous hippie attitudes\, Diyet has created a musical presence that is as diverse as her Southern Tutchone\, Tlingit\, Japanese and Scottish heritage. Her music is a mix of alternative country\, folk\, roots and traditional tunes with catchy melodies and stories deeply rooted in her Indigenous world view and northern life.
