DESCRIPTION:Brass Camel is a unique rock group who recently released their debut album\, mixed by multiple Juno-winner Ben Kaplan. Made up of five experienced twenty-somethings whose collective accomplishments include performing at New York’s Apollo Theatre\, jamming with guitar icon Les Paul and hundreds of studio sessions\, their sound is unique but one can hear the influence of titans such as Supertramp\, Rush\, Herbie Hancock and Yes. The group’s last three shows in Vancouver\, as well as recent performances in Revelstoke and Kamloops\, have sold out and last year Gordie Johnson of Big Sugar named Brass Camel as his favourite Canadian band.  In May/June the band is embarking on their first national tour which runs to Montreal and includes an industry showcase performance at Canadian Music Week in Toronto.

They play classics from Little Walter\, Chuck Berry and The Beatles along with their Kootenay-themed originals. The 2 Bit Jug Band rescues forgotten old blues\, swing\, jazz\, and jug band songs from the 1920s to the ‘40s. Covering universal themes of heartbreak\, happiness\, and even food . DESCRIPTION:A toe-tapping evening is in store for Nelson area music-lovers when the Portland\, Oregon-based stringband Never Come Down plays Taghum Hall on Friday\, August 18 at 7:30pm. Since the band formed in 2018\, they’ve taken home the top prize at the FreshGrass and RockyGrass bluegrass competitions and have released one album\, with a second on the way. Never Come Down appears at Taghum Hall as part of a 36-stop tour; tickets are available at taghumhall.ca and Eddy Music. The concert is part of the Taghum Hall Presents performance series.
