The event will also include a Dark Arts Market featuring Little Magics\, Pupille\, sylvie Le sylvie\, and Völur Chainmaille. This is a rare opportunity to hear and see the craft of these talented musicians and artists all in one place. \nDancing Plague\, Total Chroma\, and Renonce are joining forces for a tour across Turtle Island ahead of their appearances at Verboden 2024 (May 9-12). This event will be a taste of what is to come at the seventh annual darkwave festival on Coast Salish territory (Vancouver\, BC). \nLocation: Oxygen Art Centre
Address: 320 Vernon St Unit-3\, Sinixt təmxʷúlaʔx (Nelson\, BC)
Date: Sunday May 5th\, 2024\nTime: EARLY SHOW Doors 7pm\, Show 8pm
Tickets: $15 advance (link below)\, $20 door\nhttps://restlessnites.com/events/dancingplaguewithguestsdarkartsmarket5may2024 \nMUSICIAN BIOS: \nDANCING PLAGUE: Portland\, OR’s Dancing Plague makes broodingly intense but surprisingly emotional dark electronic music. Since the solo project’s inception in 2015\, Dancing Plague has released four albums and four EPs\, solidifying them in the world of darkwave and body music. \nWords about new album\, out March 2024: On their 5th studio album “Elogium”\, Portland based electronic act Dancing Plague continues to flesh out and perfect their unique brand of crushing Darkwave. The album explores themes of loss\, regret\, rebirth and growth coupled with throbbing basslines\, rave synths\, and pounding drums. Dancing Plague balances aggressive waves of electronics with enough pop sensibilities and catchy hooks to be inviting to those new to the genre. \nBandcamp: www.dancingplaguemusic.bandcamp.com\nFacebook: www.facebook.com/dancingplaguemusic\nInstagram: @dancingplaguemusic \nPost-Punk.com single premiere: https://post-punk.com/portland-darkwave-project-dancing-plague-debuts-new-single-dreamless/ \nRENONCE: Renonce is a Montreal project of industrial/darkwave music created in 2021.  Their second album Nuisance sonore was produced by Annie-Claude Deschênes (Duchess Says\, Pypy) and mixed by the Toronto industrial duo Odonis Odonis. Noisier and more aggressive\, it will be released in April 2024 on Verboden x Negative Gain.  For fans of electronic saturation\, industrial noise and vocal fry. \nBandcamp:  https://renonce.bandcamp.com/album/nuisance-sonore\nInstagram: @renoncemtl \nTOTAL CHROMA: Total Chroma\, the project of Canadian minimal synth artist Isku Katerwol\, offers a creative fusion of Italo disco\, classic EBM\, minimal wave\, and post punk sounds among other styles. Katerwol combines diverse influences into a genre-defying hybrid. \nBandcamp: https://totalchroma.bandcamp.com/album/lapland\nInstagram: @totalchroma \nJAKOB: The intertwined circle and triangle is an ancient alchemical symbol representing a precise transmutation. The extension of the triangle’s points beyond the parameters of the circle indicates that the reaction will take place free from coercion or control\, where the radius of the transformation is wholly dependent upon the strength of the reaction. Extending this incantation to the transformative potential of music\, it is also clear that carefully curated audio atmospheres have the capacity to provoke captivating responses among audiences. \nInstagram: @jakobsounds\nSoundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/jakob-sounds \nDARK ARTS MARKET VENDORS: \nLITTLE MAGICS\n@_littlemagics \nPUPILLE\n@p.upille \nSYLVIE LE SYLVIE\n@sylvielesylvie \nVÖLUR CHAINMAILLE\n@volur.chainmaille \n-No forms of bigotry\, harassment or hate will be tolerated\n-Consent is mandatory\n-Celebrate responsibly\n-Please contact us if you have any accessibility requirements and would like to attend\n-Capacity is limited\, please arrive early \n#darkwave #ebm #industrial #synthpunk #verboden #goth

SUMMARY:HARPOONIST
DESCRIPTION:THE HARPOONIST \nYou ought to meet Harpoonist. Known to family\, friends and hardcore fans as Shawn Hall. A harpoon/harmonica/harp virtuoso with a couple of decades in the hardcore\, blues-based rock and roll trenches. D’you remember The Harpoonist and the Axe Murderer\, Shawn’s duo with Matt Rogers for 17 blistering years at festivals and concert halls and clubs large and small\, grungy and almost clean? \nWell\, Hall’s turned a new leaf.  Harpoonist — Hall’s non-de-plume and the name of the band — is something else again. New songs. New record. New gritty\, tough-assed swamp music with edge and off-the-wall lyrics. More importantly\, new musical partner-in-crime Big Sugar’s Gordie Johnson. Harpoonist (the band) is something else: Hall on harpoon\, and vocals of course\, and some keys. And Johnson\, Big Sugar’s Texas-based producer\, guitarist on nearly everything else. Plus\, Hall’s pal Jonas Shandel\, who also helped write the songs. \nHarpoonist is ready. There’s a new track ready to be released called “Good People” The made-in-Texas record is titled “Did We Come Here to Dance.” Due in February on Tonic Records label and on all the streaming services. \nOh\, and you almost certainly will dance. Promise.

SUMMARY:YUKON BLONDE W/ LAYTEN KRAMER
DESCRIPTION:“Out on the road you miss births\, funerals\, birthdays\, and back home over time even the strongest relationships come and go. This is all happening in our van somewhere on The Canadian Shield and all four of us have been through it.” \nThis sense of self imposed exile undoubtedly contributes to the uniquely expansive and ever changing sonic spectrum Yukon Blonde has refined over their years. \nYou can (and should) call them many things\, but never predictable or complacent. From the bouncy\, indie rock that defined their first half decade together – culminating in 2012’s Tiger Talk – through their experimentation with slick 80s inspired pop elements on 2015’s On Blonde to the seductive synth heavy psychedelic mood making of 2018’s Critical Hit – the bands back catalogue is incredibly diverse. \n“We’re a pop band\, so everything first is rooted in that\,” Innes offers\, “but when you’ve been together as long as we have\, and been through as much as we have as friends\, you have to find ways to protect yourselves and push forward together.”

SUMMARY:AMY NELSON w/ GOOD GALS VINTAGE
DESCRIPTION:SAD GIRLS TOUR! \nAmy Nelson was born in the winter of 1992 to a loving mother and father. I spent my babyhood learning how to talk and walk\, but soon after\, I found in myself a desire to write stories and sentences about feelings and what happened in a day. I didn’t know by doing this people could call you a writer or a poet\, I just thought it was my little way of understanding the world as I saw it. Whether I was frightened or living in a yellow ball of sunshine\, I would write it down. If I didn’t write\, it was like lying to your loved one about where you ate your supper\, it made me feel miserable to be without the pen and paper.

SUMMARY:The Love still Flows - The Bellamy Brothers
DESCRIPTION:The Bellamy Brothers: THE LOVE STILL FLOWSThis is one of the BIG Ones…A huge Country act featuring a pair of true legends.Howard and David continue to prove that the trail they’ve ridden to fame has been as unique as their music itself. The road that started on the pop music charts in the ‘70’s\, took a winding turn into country music in the ‘80’s\, paving the way for duos to come\, such as Brooks & Dunn\, Montgomery Gentry\, Big & Rich\, and The Judds. Now known by their music and the company they were keeping\, The Bellamys officially lifted off the launch pad in 1976 when their single\, “Let Your Love Flow\,” became an instant smash in both the U.S. and Europe. It stayed on the international charts long enough to build a huge international fan base for the hip young brothers that endures to this day. The love was indeed flowing as The Bellamys jammed for audiences on their sold-out concerts and shared stages with the likes of Loggins & Messina\, the Doobie Brothers\, and the Beach Boys.\, with their patented blend of rock/country music.True to their musical roots\, their style and their songwriting was moving steadily more towards their raising. By the late ‘70’s The Bellamys were emerging on the country charts with another bona fide smash. “If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body (Would You Hold It Against Me)\,” originally scrawled on a dinner napkin by David\, rocketed them to the top of the country charts the way “Let Your Love Flow\,” had done in the pop market just a few years earlier. Success followed success: “Dancing Cowboys\,” “Sugar Daddy\,” “You Ain’t Just Whistlin’ Dixie\,” “Lovers Live Longer\,” “Do You Love As Good As You Look\,” “Redneck Girl\,” “For All The Wrong Reasons\,” “I Love Her Mind\,” “I Need More Of You\,” “Old Hippie\,” “Too Much Is Not Enough\,” “Kids Of The Baby Boom\,” and “Reggae Cowboy” and “Crazy From The Heart\,” all have lined the corridors of the Bellamy’s musical history and their walls with platinum and gold.Howard and David created a patent on the newly cool “duo” category in country music. In the era of the 2000’s\, The Bellamy Brothers hold the record in both the Academy of Country Music (ACM) and the Country Music Association Awards (CMA) for the most duo nominations. Numerous Grammy nods have also been directed toward the brothers.

SUMMARY:DirtWire w/ Chimp It & Hoola
DESCRIPTION:// DIRTWIRE //\nDirtwire stands poised between ancient Mother Earth and modern technology\, a blend of ethnomusicology and the psychedelic trance state\, gut-bucket delta blues and what the band variously dubs “back-porch space cowboy blues\, swamptronica\, and electro-twang.” It’s a sound informed by Dirtwire’s travels and performances around the globe\, where East meets West and North joins South. From the favelas in Brazil\, Femi Kuti’s Shrine in Lagos\, Tokyo’s bluegrass clubs\, Ayahuasca ceremonies in Central America\, Gamelan performances in Bali\, desert festivals in the Australian Outback\, and the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s modernized new capital Astana\, the band spreads its message by building bridges across musical cultures in their own unique way.\nDirtwire plays an array of instruments both ancient and modern\, including West African kamale ngonis\, jaw harps\, space fiddles\, whamola basses\, Rickenbacher electric 12 string guitars\, bowed Banjos and mouth harps from around the globe\, all interwoven into modern laptop beat creation. Hailing from the underground west coast electronic bass music scene Dirtwire finds itself at the forefront of experimental electronic music production mixing in their wide array of world instruments with sampled beats and 808’s. Dirtwire’s live shows are a communal psychedelic journey\, ranging from down home boot stomping get downs\, to bass and blues electronic mashups\, to ethereal cinematic beat driven soundscapes. Woven into each is the exploration of where live instruments meet computer production\, and where tradition meets experimentation.\nMedia Links:\nSOUNDCLOUD: https://soundcloud.com/dirtwire\nINSTAGRAM: http://www.instagram.com/dirwire\nFACEBOOK: http://www.facebook.com/dirtwiremusic\n///////////////////////////////////\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\nOpening Support:\n// CHIMP IT //\nHybrid Electronic DJ/Live Performance\nBlending the richness of cutting edge electronic music with the depth and emotion of blistering guitar licks and live vocals\nChimp It’s signature move is to keep their fans guessing\, as they weave their original material into edits and remixes from their favourite artists and peers\, moving through Garage\, Dubstep\, House\, DnB or whatever fresh gems they’ve uncovered in the far reaches of the music-verse.\nThey have been selected for prime time slots at events such as Shambhala\, Wicked Woods\, Friendzy Fest\, Tiny Lights and Arc’teryx Academy. Chimp It has landed many opening slots and jammed live with acts such as Moontricks\, Lazy Syrup Orchestra and Kytami & Phonik Ops. \n———————————- \nDinosaur Fight \nDinosaur Fight which is an Electro-Funk Hip-Pop Duo Feat Rahj Levinson Craig Walter. These multi-instrumentalists use live looping to bring a totally unique feel to recognizable covers while maintaining a “different every time” appeal (NO BACKING TRACKS ARE USED\, ALL IS BUILT LIVE!) Playing in many acts over the years including Wassabi Collective\, The Hillties\, Alpine Conspiracy\, Intersect & Cold Mtn Air just to name a few. This act can play any room\, opening for major bands such as Moontricks\, Freak Motif\, Apollo Suns and Evergreen Afro-Dub Orchestra.
