SUMMARY:NEW YEARS EVE with BRASS CAMEL & PARIS PICK and the PRICKS
DESCRIPTION:Brass Camel is a unique Vancouver-based rock group whose singular sound mashes together the diverse influences of prog\, funk and rock music. The band’s musicianship\, songwriting and work ethic have led to endorsements from such companies as Sabian\, Rotosound UK and Vater and the group has performed over 120 concerts since the release of their debut album “Brass” in late 2022. Among these shows are two successful national tours of Canada\, numerous summer festivals including Between the Peaks\, Starbelly Jam\, and Wapiti Festival\, and performances in such esteemed venues as Vancouver’s Commodore Ballroom and Vogue Theatre as well as a headline performance at Toronto’s historic Longboat Hall. DESCRIPTION:A very special performance by renowned pianist\, Jesse Pleissis on the Elk View Lodge Grand Piano. \nTwo performances at 2pm & 7pm. \nTickets are $30 in advance; please text 519-701-3821 to reserve.  \nJesse Plessis is a Canadian pianist and composer in doctoral studies in composition at McGill University with Philippe Leroux\, funded by the Schulich Excellence Fellowship. He was born in Sparwood British Columbia\, and belongs to the Métis Nation of British Columbia. Jesse will perform on the full-size Kawai Grand Piano. \nPleissis studied piano and composition at the University of Lethbridge\, Brandon University\, took classes with Norma Fischer in England and Edith Fischer in Switzerland\, and holds a doctorate in piano performance from the Université de Montréal. As a pianist Jesse maintains a full performing schedule\, and has performed across Canada and Europe. His compositions have been performed all over Canada and the U.S.A. by many groups and musicians including the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra\, the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra\, Brittany Rae\, Jonathon Adams\, the Land’s End Chamber Ensemble. \nWhen he is not busy performing\, practicing\, composing\, teaching\, and walking his dog\, Jesse enjoys running\, surfing\, kung-fu\, and yoga whenever he can.

DESCRIPTION:The silly season is upon us and we would like to throw your favorite winter event into the mix!!\nArt throwdown is on and we are stoked to welcome a new bunch of artists and a new DJ to the stage on the 27th!!\nIf you haven’t been to one of these make sure you get there!But let me give you a rundown so you know what to expect.\nOn the night there will be 2 heats of 3 artists on stage. Heats are only an hour long for which the artists can create pretty much anything they like. Painting\, drawing\, pyrography\, You name it.At the end of the heat you ‘the audience’ will vote for your favorite piece with the winner taking home some prizes and earning a spot in the finals in march.You will also have the chance to go home with art pieces created on the night. DESCRIPTION:Since forming in 2021\, Earth Freaks have worked at a feverish rate and continued to push themselves in a fashion that can be described as nothing short of miraculous.  \n\nThe four piece\, which trained at Selkirk College’s renowned music program\, has shown no signs of slowing down from the time of its inception. A jam-packed Summer in 2023 saw constant touring around Vancouver Island\, British Columbia’s Interior and Alberta\, including performances at Sled Island in Calgary\, MASSiF Music Festival in Nelson and RED Mountain Ski Resort’s first annual ‘Between The Peaks’ festival.  \n  \nThe release of two singles in August of ’22- Heavy Sunshine and Colour Tones – proved to be sound evidence of the engaging\, feel good songwriting that is characteristic of Earth Freaks\, and was followed up by a full length debut album at the end of the year. March 2023 saw the release of the group’s latest single\, the fan favourite ‘Remedy\,’ as well as their first venture outside of Canada as they brought their high-energy live experience to Mexico for a run of shows supporting reggae legends\, ‘Antidoping’ and ‘Los Pericos.’
