The influence of her Western\, Arctic and Irish roots\, lead way to a unique sound where the wild vastness of the American west\, frozen solitude of Arctic fjords\, and moody mist of Celtic sea shades meet in balance through ethereal vocals\, eerie cadences\, intricate finger style guitar and warm bass tones. \n\nWith a tour history of 30+ countries\, Røki has performed solo and with talents such as Califone\, Allison Russell\, Charlie Parr\, Bill Callahan\, Darrell Scott\, Elephant Revival\, Guy Davis\, Lukas Nelson\, Izaak Opatz\, Yonder Mountain String Band\, The Devil Makes Three\, Infamous Stringdusters\, Greensky Bluegrass\, Railroad Earth\, Trampled By Turtles etc. She’s honored to have shared the stage with greats such as Ramblin’ Jack Elliott\, EmmyLou Harris\, Robert Earl Keen\, Bill Kreutzmann\, Del McCoury\, Sam Bush\, Don McLean\, Richie Havens\, Doc Watson and others.\nOriginally from Montana\, Røki now resides in the Sierra Nevada mountains alongside a cast of talented psych folk songwriters- Joanna Newsom\, Alele Diane\, Mariee Siou\, Fawn Fables\, Aaron Ross and Davia.

SUMMARY:SUMMER KICKS: KIRAN AHLUWALIA WITH OLIVIA ROSE
DESCRIPTION:Born in India\, raised in Canada\, and currently based in New York City\, the sublimely talented vocalist and composer Kirin Ahluwalia is the poster child for musical multiculturalism. With two JUNOs to her credit\, Kiran has always been celebrated as a master of the profound vocal traditions of India and Pakistan (DownBeat praises the “emotional richness” of her singing). Yet these are traditions that she simultaneously honours but also updates in remarkable ways. \nHer original compositions\, while intensely Indian\, have also been influenced by Kiran’s deep delving into the realms of jazz\, western blues\, soul\, and rock\, and especially the haunting trance blues of Mali. Over her storied career she has also had memorable collaborations with everyone from fado legends to superstar Celtic fiddler Natalie MacMaster. Appearing with a quintet featuring renowned jazz artist Rez Abbasi on guitar and similarly skilled performers on drums\, tabla\, and accordion/organ\, the boundary-blurring Kiran will take the audience on a unique and enchanting musical journey.
