DESCRIPTION:Meet Raul: Architect\, Artist\, and Digital Fabrication Visionary\n\n\n\n“I’m Raul\, an architect and artist of Mexican origin\, now based in Canada since 2022. My lifelong fascination with materials and manufacturing techniques has deeply influenced my approach to design. While I’ve always appreciated the artistry and individuality of handmade products\, I’ve also recognized the challenges they face in achieving precision and consistent quality.\n\n\n\nThis curiosity led me to digital fabrication\, where I discovered the power to translate complex designs into reality with precision and control. SUMMARY:Incandescence
DESCRIPTION:Incandescence\, a National Film Board of Canada production\, is an immersive cinematic experience that weaves together on-the-ground footage with extraordinary stories of survival and adaptation that transform our understanding of wildfire. \nWildfires are burning with increasing intensity around the world. Following the rhythms of the seasons\, Nova Ami and Velcrow Ripper’s Incandescence is an immersive cinematic experience\, weaving on-the-ground footage with extraordinary stories of survival and adaptation that transform our understanding of wildfire. The film takes shape from the ancient patterns embodied in fire: destruction\, aftermath and rebirth. From the flightpath of bees to an osprey’s aerial perspective\, floating over the landscape: the Earth comes back. \nThis important documentary provides insight into the devastating impact of the Okanagan wildfires in recent years\, highlighting the personal stories of affected individuals and the environmental consequences that resulted. Join the directors Ami and Ripper after the screening for a community post-screening Q & A. \nThis event is presented by the Capitol Theatre.

SUMMARY:The Mosquitos – New Absurdist Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Material Theatre Presents:\n\nTHE MOSQUITOS\n“Things are changing rather quickly.  We no longer share a reality”.\nA group of old friends get together for a dinner party\, while rumours of an unimaginable change swirl around them. How will they face total transformation? \nAn absurd comedy of manners with an existential heart\, The Mosquitos is original new theatre written and directed by Slocan Valley playwright Marya Folinsbee.  With equal parts humour and pathos\, The Mosquitos reconsiders our place in the ecosystem\, asking; \nHow do we create a coherent life together when we understand the world so differently? \nA meditation on politics\, relationships\, (mis)information and the role of art in making meaning\, The Mosquitos is inspired by absurdist classics like Eugene Ionesco’s Rhinoceros and Samuel Beckett’s Happy Days (and\, by life in these times). \nThis world premiere features a talented ensemble of local performers and artistic team: \nWritten and Directed by Marya Folinsbee \nFeaturing Performances by: \nEmily Ryan \nKozmo Sammartino \nRoger Carter \nPatricia McLaughlin \nKarmelle Spence-Sing \nLindsay Clague \nJames Shaw \nAaron Pickett \nMike Funergy \nSound Designer Jeremy Sauer \nProjection Designer Brian Lye \nMask & Puppet Designer Elaine Weryshko \nStage Manager Martina Avis \nTechnical Director Terry Brennan \nProduction Designer Marya Folinsbee \nCreation support from The Columbia Kootenay Cultural Alliance. \nProduction support from The BC Arts Council. \nWe acknowledge the support of the Canada Council for the Arts. \n\nwww.materialtheatre.ca

SUMMARY:“Uno” by Raul Pous Facha
Through the fusion of technology and craftsmanship\, I am able to create pieces that retain the unique essence of handmade work while elevating their quality and accuracy.”\n\n\n\nExhibition Dates: March 10 – 20\, 2025\n\n\n\nOpening Reception: Thursday\, March 13 from 4:00pm-5:30pm\n\n\n\nGallery Hours: Monday-Friday\, 12pm-4pm\n\n\nTo learn more\, visit us at: https://visacgallery.com/exhibitions/#unoraulpousfacha
