Inspired by a woven blanket\, The Witness Blanket is a large-scale work of art created by artist Carey Newman. It contains hundreds of items reclaimed from residential schools\, churches\, government buildings\, and traditional and cultural structures from across Canada. The Witness Blanket project offers visitors the opportunity to learn about the legacy of Canada’s residential school system and Indigenous resiliency.
