DESCRIPTION:Experience the artistry up close and personal in this exhibition that explores themes of environment\, technology and self-expression. Participants of The Art of Adornment designed wearable art for this juried fashion show. Presented in collaboration with the Rossland Council for Arts and Culture (RCAC). \nEvents and Activities:\nAugust 10-11 @ 10am-5pm: Visit the VISAC Gallery during the Columbia Basin Culture Tour to engage with the exhibition and participate in a recycled art workshop.

SUMMARY:KHC Summer Kicks- Qairo
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday Night from 7-9\, Free outdoor concert at Keith King Park: Golden BC. \nQairo (pronounced Cairo) is a passionate and innovative septet whose pan-Mediterranean sound combines the fire of flamenco with a heady blend of Turkish micro-tonality\, highly charged Balkan rhythms\, and spicy Middle Eastern melodies. Singer Alejandro Mendia and dancers Lia Grainger and Deborah “La Caramelita” were part of a popular flamenco ensemble for years before merging with flamenco guitarist Manuel Vazquez and clarinetist and saxophonist Dorian Zavatta. Their goal was to create a radical musical hybrid\, and with the addition of percussionist Alex Carrasco and drummer Gaetan Diaz\, Cairo hit paydirt. Onstage they unleash a firestorm of music and dance that is rooted in centuries-old folk traditions yet taps into a modern\, freewheeling eclecticism that crackles with chemistry. SUMMARY:Weekly Tango Mini Lesson & Practice
DESCRIPTION:Want to learn and practice dancing Argentine Tango?\n\n\nWe host a weekly mini-lesson and practica at Christie Lee’s Hall in Fairview.\n\n\nThe guided portion from 7:30-8:15 has a different host and topic each week (check our Facebook page for host and topic announcements). We have an open practice after the lesson until 9:30pm.\n\n\n\nDancers of all levels are welcome! Material is beginner-friendly.\n\n\nTango is an improvised partner dance originating in Argentina and Uruguay; you don’t need a partner to attend tango practices or events and it can be danced by anyone and everyone.\n\n\n\n\nPlease bring your dancing shoes and a water bottle.\n\n\n5$ donation\n\n\n\nWhere to find us: Christies Lees Hall is on Radio Ave.\, in lower Fairview. You can access Radio from 4th or 7th Streets. The Hall’s part of the Kiwanis Villa complex. On Radio Ave. look for “701” on the deck post near the sidewalk leading to the front doors.
