SUMMARY:THE PORCH HOUNDS w/ PETER REED DOUBLE ALBUM RELEASE
DESCRIPTION:THE PORCH HOUNDS\nBorn on the wide-open Canadian prairies\, The Porch Hounds are the brainchild of singer/songwriter Nik Winnitowy. Gaining traction as a honky-tonk cover band in the small mountain town of Revelstoke\, the project has morphed into a country and rockinspired Canadiana outfit. With all parts and instruments written\, recorded\, and engineered by frontman Nik\, the songs blend the raw energy of rock with the soulful storytelling of folk with a twang of classic country. Tales of love\, loss\, and alcohol\, along with the timeless allure of the wide-open road\, draw listeners into a world of rustic charm and heartfelt emotion.

SUMMARY:Daniel Champagne in Concert
DESCRIPTION:Here’s a heads-up for an upcoming concert with astonishing popularity: before any publicity had gone out\, word got around that celebrated Australian musician Daniel Champagne was coming to Taghum Hall on April 10—and the event has almost sold out! So he’s added a second concert on April 9 at 7:30pm. Beloved in his home country\, he is no stranger to Canada: “The word Prodigy seems to entirely fall short of this soft-spoken young man’s skills he coaxes sounds and melodies out of his instrument that literally drop jaws\,” wrote the Calgary Herald. Tickets are available at Taghumhall.ca and at Eddy Music and Taghum Shell.

SUMMARY:Daniel Champagne in Concert
DESCRIPTION:An upcoming concert with astonishing popularity: before any publicity had gone out\, word got around that celebrated Australian musician Daniel Champagne was coming to Taghum Hall on April 10—and the event has almost sold out!

SUMMARY:SHAELA MILLER
DESCRIPTION:On the heels of a 1st Place Project Wild finish\, years of top-tier folk festival circuiting\, TV placements like HBO’s True Blood\, and many other accomplishments\, Shaela Miller is set for much more in 2023. \nEarly dreams stay in the blood. Pulsating drum beats meet ring-spun synthesizers balanced by steel guitar professions as the listener is introduced to a captivating story. It’s one of a dual world – a binary of New Wave and Classic Country – the expression that reared a young songwriter years ago. For Shaela\, it’s a self-indulgent trip back to a world of music she’s been patiently waiting to explore. The listener should take comfort in feeling a little tense\, but this is no sleight of hand. It’s all from the deep well of emotion where Shaela lives as a songwriter. Where dreams go unspent\, the host can be left to wither. Take a small comfort knowing that Shaela is guiding her own career path as every artist should – with no fear of expectations.

We will learn to evaluate lenses to determine which are appropriate for each project\, from choosing lenses for their aesthetic look to rejecting lenses for their practical deficiencies. And we will look at a selection of lenses on camera on the big screen to see firsthand the differences between them.\n.\n.\n.\nABOUT CORBY:\nCorby Martin is the owner and optical specialist at Salmo Cine. He has a passion for cinema lenses and loves to bring an artists vision to the screen through optics.\nCorby started his career as a filmmaker shooting snowboard videos\, he quickly moved on to lensing broadcast TV shows and music videos. He has been the director of photography on dozens of commercials\, and several short films and documentaries. Corby’s career transitioned to working on the lenses rather than with them as a lens technician.\nOver the years he has had the honor of speaking on panel discussions and as a brand presenter at industry trade shows N.A.B. and CineGear.
