DESCRIPTION:Together Nelson Ending Poverty project presents a fundraising concert with Juno-award winning singer-songwriter Stephen Fearing\, Saturday December 16\, 7:30pm at the Capitol Theatre in Nelson. \nStephen’s music is a mesmerizing blend of roots\, folk\, and pop. Co-founder of Canadian roots-rock group Blackie and The Rodeo Kings\, he is a beguiling teller of tales\, and his masterful guitar work and engaging performance style combine to present an intimate and moving experience.\nThrough a life of many relocations and countless months on the road performing\, Fearing has become a gifted storyteller and true musical nomad with the ability to enthrall audiences of all sizes and attitudes. “Getting on stage is the fun part\, especially when the adrenaline kicks in\,” he says\, with a broad smile. “People want to escape and be taken on a journey. I build my shows so they do just that.” \nStephen is committed to using his music to support community-building projects like\nTogether Nelson\, a community-based initiative launched by Nelson at its Best in the fall of 2020.\nIts work is to better understand local poverty in order to create a four-year Community Action Strategy to reduce poverty in Nelson and Area. DESCRIPTION:Want to learn and practice dancing Argentine Tango?\n\n\nWe host a weekly mini-lesson and practica at Christie Lee’s Hall in Fairview.\n\n\nThe guided portion from 7:30-8:15 has a different host and topic each week (check our Facebook page for host and topic announcements). We have an open practice after the lesson until 9:30pm.\n\n\n\nDancers of all levels are welcome! Material is beginner-friendly.\n\n\nTango is an improvised partner dance originating in Argentina and Uruguay; you don’t need a partner to attend tango practices or events and it can be danced by anyone and everyone.\n\n\n\n\nPlease bring your dancing shoes and a water bottle.\n\n\n5$ donation\n\n\n\nWhere to find us: Christies Lees Hall is on Radio Ave.\, in lower Fairview. DESCRIPTION:Want to learn and practice dancing Argentine Tango?\n\n\nWe host a weekly mini-lesson and practica at Christie Lee’s Hall in Fairview.\n\n\nThe guided portion from 7:30-8:15 has a different host and topic each week (check our Facebook page for host and topic announcements). We have an open practice after the lesson until 9:30pm.\n\n\n\nDancers of all levels are welcome! Material is beginner-friendly.\n\n\nTango is an improvised partner dance originating in Argentina and Uruguay; you don’t need a partner to attend tango practices or events and it can be danced by anyone and everyone.\n\n\n\n\nPlease bring your dancing shoes and a water bottle.\n\n\n5$ donation\n\n\n\nWhere to find us: Christies Lees Hall is on Radio Ave.\, in lower Fairview. You can access Radio from 4th or 7th Streets. The Hall’s part of the Kiwanis Villa complex. On Radio Ave. look for “701” on the deck post near the sidewalk leading to the front doors. They will have the options of using a canvas provided but really its pretty open forum for whatever they want to create.
