With music by eight-time Academy Award winner\, Alan Menken\, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater and a compelling book by Doug Wright\, this fishy fable will capture your heart with its irresistible songs\, including “Under the Sea\,” “Kiss the Girl” and “Part of Your World.” \nAriel\, King Triton’s youngest daughter\, wishes to pursue the human Prince Eric in the world above\, bargaining with the evil sea witch\, Ursula\, to trade her tail for legs. But the bargain is not what it seems\, and Ariel needs the help of her colorful friends\, Flounder the fish\, Scuttle the seagull and Sebastian the crab to restore order under the sea. \nThe Little Mermaid is presented through special arrangement with Musical Theatre International (MTI). \nOriginally produced by Disney Theatrical Productions. \nDirected by Jesse Greenway\nMusical Direction by Malaika Horswill\nChoreography by Jodie Edmunds\nDesign by Adriana Bogaard

SUMMARY:Natural Dye Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Most natural dyes come from plant sources like roots\, berries\, bark\, and leaves\, as well as other biological sources such as fungi. These dyes are biodegradable\, non-toxic\, and non-allergenic. They also have a much lower environmental impact compared to synthetic dyes. \nSo get hands on with natural dyes and create your own bundle-dyed silk square. Unlike standard dip dyeing\, bundle dyeing allows you to arrange flowers\, petals\, leaves\, herbs\, and vegetables directly onto the fabric. This hands-on approach produces intricate patterns and a stunning array of colors\, bringing nature’s beauty to life in your unique creation. \n\nJuly 27\, 3pm – 6pm\n$77 – all materials included\nTeens and adults\nRVAC Kitchen Studios | 320 Wilson st.\nParticipants may choose to let their silk squares air dry at home\, or at the gallery for future collection\n\nTo book head to: \nwww.revelstokeartgallery.ca/education

SUMMARY:KHC Summer Kicks- Garret T. Willie
DESCRIPTION:Summer Kicks! Free outdoor concert in beautiful Golden BC. \nCalled “Canada’s next big thing in down-and-dirty\, classic-rockin’ blues guitardom” by the Toronto Star\, Garret T. Willie more than lives up to that purple praise. Hailing from tiny Cormorant Island just off the northeast tip of Vancouver Island\, Willie was only 10 years old when he dazzled an Alert Bay Music Festival audience by scorching his way through a couple of AC/DC cover tunes. Jump ahead 13 years and Willie has a hit album out\, and a reputation as a guitar star akin to Stevie Ray Vaughan or George Thorogood. No mere imitator\, Willie is a thoughtful First Nations artist with a unique emotional truth – one that he unleashes in slow-burn ballads and powerful blasts of blues-rock fury. His great band features guitarist Brett Smith-Daniels\, bassist Lucas Renshaw\, and drummer Saha Enns.
