SUMMARY:Weekly Tango Mini Lesson & Practice
DESCRIPTION:Want to learn and practice dancing Argentine Tango?\n\n\nWe host a weekly mini-lesson and practica at Christie Lee’s Hall in Fairview.\n\n\nThe guided portion from 7:30-8:15 has a different host and topic each week (check our Facebook page for host and topic announcements). We have an open practice after the lesson until 9:30pm.\n\n\n\nDancers of all levels are welcome! Material is beginner-friendly.\n\n\nTango is an improvised partner dance originating in Argentina and Uruguay; you don’t need a partner to attend tango practices or events and it can be danced by anyone and everyone.\n\n\n\n\nPlease bring your dancing shoes and a water bottle.\n\n\n5$ donation\n\n\n\nWhere to find us: Christies Lees Hall is on Radio Ave.\, in lower Fairview. Also\, look for the sandwich board near the sidewalk.\n\n\nGoogle map link: https://goo.gl/maps/zFraPXNpJ6aBBJtv6\nMaps will tell you that it’s “temporarily closed” but don’t believe it!

SUMMARY:Momentum of Isolation
DESCRIPTION:In a lively\, moving and highly topical piece\, Shay Kuebler and his seven dancers tackle the growing phenomenon of loneliness and remind us how much we need each other.\nA brilliant jack-of-all-trades who is proficient in multiple disciplines (dance\, theatre\, martial arts\, urban dance\, new technologies)\, Shay Kuebler has been making waves on the Vancouver scene for the past 15 years with his physical and inventive dance supported by rigorous technique. It was in 2018\, when he learned that the UK had created a Ministry of Loneliness to combat a social trend as unhealthy as alcohol and cigarettes\, that Kuebler became interested in the subject\, which is even more relevant today. Exacerbated by the pandemic\, this surge of isolation and loneliness is growing. MOI – Momentum of Isolation explores this reality\, which goes hand in hand with our digital addiction\, juxtaposing solos and ensemble pieces\, one man interacting with objects and the group\, the younger generation and the next. Are we really so sure that “everything will be all right”? \nShow Length: 65 mins. No Intermission\nAll ages.\nSome Strobe lights
