SUMMARY:Sense of Place
DESCRIPTION:Sense Of Place” is photographer Neal Panton’s 17th solo exhibit and 76th including group shows. He has exhibited here in Canada\, Europe the USA and South America. \nThis exhibit features large scale metal landscape prints of the East Kootenays. Neal Panton writes “How do we experience and make meaning of a particular place? For me I use my camera lens to create connections to a place. Photography nurtures my feeling of belonging in this world. It is this deeper emotional connection that makes these places worth caring about\, and that encourages my ongoing stewardship to my natural surroundings. This collection represents my own sense of place.” \nNeal is an Award Winning Internationally Recognized Fine Art Photographer. He has been published in more than 25 countries worldwide\, has 9 self-published books & catalogues.Opening Reception February 9th from 7pm to 9pm with special musical guest Tyrel Hawke. This is a free licensed event.

SUMMARY:Beyond the Legal Limit Theatrical Presentation with Music\, Columbia Basin Tour
DESCRIPTION:Pat Henman’s story of loss\, grief and recovery captured in her 2021 critically acclaimed memoir Beyond the Legal Limit: Surviving a Crash with a Drunk Driver has been adapted for the stage with original music and songs. Developed during the pandemic with support from the Canada Council for the Arts\, Echo Vocal Arts Alliance and the Nelson and District Credit Union\, the 55 minute drama will star Pat Henman as the Narrator along with Rachel DeShon as the Singer\, while the Musician role will be shared by two accomplished pianists\, Robyn Lamb from Nelson and Sue Gould of Golden\, BC. Beyond the Legal Limit\, with original score and songs by Calgary based composer and Musical Director\, Konrad Pluta and directed by Vancouver theatre actor\, director and writer\, Tracey Power\, has had three successful streaming opportunities including the premier in April 2021 from the Capitol Theatre in Nelson\, The Charles Bailey Theatre in Trail and in September of 2021 at the Rochester Keybank Fringe Festival in Rochester\, New York. The tour in the Basin is supported in part by the Columbia Kootenay Cultural Alliance. The cast is thrilled to be performing live this spring.There will be a Q & A following the performance and books will be available for sale and signing.The tour will cover the Langham Theatre\, Kaslo March 30; Kicking Horse Culture\, Golden\, April 1; Taghum Hall\, Taghum\, April 6; Huntington Hills Community Centre\, Calgary\, Alberta\, April 8; Kootenay River Secondary School Theatre\, Creston\, April 14.
