DESCRIPTION:is excited & honored to be hosting the upcoming artist talk being delivered by Thaddeus Holownia. @thaddeusholownia \nNovember 22nd/2024 at @gal.lery444 Gallery 444 + SOMA studio/venue \n@soma.gallery444 \nDoors Open 6pm \nArtist Talk Begins 6:30pm \nSnacks and beverages provided \nArtist Biography & CV \nThaddeus Holownia\, is a visual artist\, teacher\, letterpress printer and publisher. Holownia was born in England in 1949 and immigrated to Canada in 1954. \nHe completed a B.A. in Communication and Fine Arts at University of Windsor in 1972. \nAfter a forty-one year teaching and administrative career in the Department of Fine Arts at Mount Allison University in Sackville New Brunswick\, Holownia recently retired and now spends his time at his studio in Jolicure\, New Brunswick. \nHolownia’s work has been the subject of numerous exhibitions\, including \n•The Nature of Nature\, The Photographs of Thaddeus Holownia 1976–2016\, at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia; \n•The Terra Nova Suite\, a twenty-five year survey of his work in Newfoundland & Labrador at the Provincial Gallery (The Rooms) in St. John’s Newfoundland; \n•24 Tree Studies for Henry David Thoreau at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery in Fredericton\, New Brunswick\, and the Heckscher Museum in Huntington\, New York. \n•His 1998 mid-career retrospective exhibition\, Extended Vision: Photographs by Thaddeus Holownia 1978–1997\, organized by the Canadian Museum of Contemporary Photography\, traveled across Canada and to the Centro de la Imagen in Mexico City. \nHis photographs have been included in numerous group exhibitions\, including Monet’s Legacy: Series\, Order and Obsession at the Hamburger Kunsthalle\, Hamburg\, Germany\, and Car Culture at the Heckscher Museum in Huntington\, New York. \nHolownia is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada\, a Fulbright Fellow and an elected member of the RCA. \nHe has twice received the Paul Paré Medal from Mount Allison University in recognition of excellence in teaching\, creative activity\, research\, and community service as well as receiving the Lieutenant Governor’s Award for High Achievement in the Visual Arts from artsNB and the Order of New Brunswick. \nPlease Note: \nThis is a FREE ARTS & CULTURE COMMUNITY EVENT; however\, if you wish to contribute to the ongoing sustainability of these types of events\, your charitable donations are greatly appreciated. \n

DESCRIPTION:This event will take place at the Columbia Valley Community Centre (646\, 4th Street) on Friday\, November 22nd and is a 19+ age event. Tickets are available online and at the door for $20. Please\, join us for a night of remembrance\, solidarity\, unity\, music\, and hope. Additionally\, there will be food available for purchase provided by our beloved local restaurant\, Smokehouse 93. Doors and bar will be open at 6:30pm\, with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. All proceeds will go to Doctors Without Borders (MSF) and PCRF.

The Limelight Theatre is closing its doors and the cast and crew face a grim future as the “silver screen” steals away their audience. A charismatic movie producer pays them a visit on their last night\, offering them fame and fortune in this new era of entertainment. Is it too good to be true?
