Her incredible clay sculptures are more than just art; they are a reflection of her path from pain to peace\, and from survival to an authentic life. \nJoin us for an inspiring afternoon where Andrea will share how her creative process became a form of art therapy\, allowing her to channel her emotions and experiences into something beautiful and empowering. This is not a story of suffering\, but one of healing\, hope\, and the incredible power of creativity to shape our lives. \nCome\, take in this uplifting exhibit\, and see the artworks that have not only transformed Andrea’s life but also are a beacon of hope for others in their own experience of healing.

DESCRIPTION:You’ll never hear ‘Don’t touch!’ and ‘Shhh!’ at Museum Mash! People of all ages are invited to explore the museum in new ways – fostering creativity\, making memories\, and building a lifelong love for museums and galleries. Sing! Dance! Colour on the walls! Is that a giant cardboard fort? YES! \nOn Sunday\, October 6 at 10 am the doors at the Nelson Museum are flung open and free activities are offered throughout the day\, until 3 pm. Drumming\, cardboard forts\, and giant Jenga will entertain younger children while older artists get creative with printmaking and papercrafts. Designed with kids in mind\, Museum Mash! is a beloved semi-annual event that encourages families to explore the museum in unique ways.

SUMMARY:Intermediate Handbuilding: Bathroom Countertopware with Natural Impressions (Sept 15-Oct 27)
DESCRIPTION:Incorporate natural elements such as flowers and grasses to create a set of bathroom countertopware. Participants must have previously taken a hand building class or be a Trail Pottery Studio member. \nParticipants Will Create: \n1 Toothbrush Jar\, 1 small water cup\, Soap Dish with Feet\, Bathroom Jar with Lid\, Soap Pump Bottle\, Watch and Ring Tray\n\nAbout Lana Jamieson of Black Earth Ceramics:\nLana is the potter behind Black Earth Ceramics. She has a BFA from Concordia University where she majored in Studio Arts with a Concentration in Ceramic Sculpture. While in Montreal\, Lana fell in love with pottery\, while studying privately with Iranian master potter Mahmoud Baghaeian. She has a studio in her home in Rossland where she creates pottery which she sells in several shops. Lana has taught several ceramics workshops in schools\, at peoples homes\, and at the Rossland Museum.
