Carol Retzlaff is a British-born artist now living in the West Kootenay. She has been painting in pastel and oils for the past 10 years, almost exclusively inspired by the landscapes of British Columbia. Her work has won awards in several juried exhibitions and can be found in private collections across the country. Carol is a signature member of the Federation of Canadian Artists.

Celebrate arts and culture at Bear Spring Eco Retreat with special activities, outdoor tours and special guests! The gift shop and our beautiful new event venue will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, and Sunday, July 30. Get a behind-the-scenes tour of our glamping retreat and accompanying amenities and gardens. Find eco-friendly inspiration as almost everything is built from salvaged and recycled materials. Observe local crafters and resident artist Solita Work conduct live art demonstrations. Purchase art and décor to take home.

Google maps accurately lists location. Located 12 km west of Nelson; follow Hwy. 3A to Beasley Rd., a couple of km past Taghum Shell; make a right up hill. (If past Beasley Fire Dept., you missed the turn.) From Castlegar, it’s about 9 km from Playmor Junction; make first left after Beasley Fire Dept. Turn up Queen Victoria Rd. at mailboxes; follow road about 1 km; keep straight through gate posts number 5248 and up driveway.
