Plein-air art; Contemporary art

I am a contemporary plein-air artist whose passion for life is vividly demonstrated in my colourful canvases. Painting outside with oils enables me to capture the true effects of colour in sunlight and shade. By experimenting with my palette, it intensifies the mood and subject in my work and challenges viewers to look closer at colours seen versus what is perceived.

Lampshades; Lighting; Vintage fabrics

Linda has been following her passion and designing lampshades for over 25 years. Delight Lampshades—formerly Shady Lady—offers an eclectic mix of simple to richly ornate. All of her pieces are meticulously hand sewn, using traditional techniques with a wide range of materials and embellishments. With an inspired eye for colour, texture and detail, Linda collects textures and accessories from a variety of sources. Glowing brocades, shimmering silks, beads and embroidery are skilfully combined to create a stunning sense of age and place, from Victorian parlours to the roaring ’20s and mid-century modern. Working out of her small studio in Warfield, Linda takes pride in every part of her creative process. A work in progress will be on display in her studio.
